Synergy of Past and Present

The project design for this apartment, situated in a Viennese building in the Secession style, built at the end of the 19th century, was intentionally searching the close relation between materials, colors and forms of constructive Secession style, and a new modern look to create the synergy between the past and present.
The kitchen is the focal point of the apartment. The open space unifying living room, dining room and kitchen area ensures the on-going interaction of friends and family during the preparation and sharing of every meal. Renovation in old buildings is always a challenge and especially when constructive changes are impossible. Especially in this area, the need to renovate with no possible structural changes, required innovative solutions based on form, function and equipment. AEG appliances are integrated into the kitchen environment to both support the modern interpretation of Secession style and enhance the comfort of its owners at every stage of meal preparation and sharing.
The color palette of the space awakens the senses and teases the pallet even prior to cooking start. The Induction Combo hob and SurroundCook double oven fit perfectly to the strong geometrical forms of the kitchen cabinets and together with the built-in dishwasher and refrigerator ensure more space and flexibility for the inhabitants. Most appreciated is the hob with its integrated extractor hood, which made the installation of a separate hood unnecessary – saving precious space in this area and maximizing the success of design solutions.
They say that the kitchen is the heart of the home – and that is certainly true of this modern warm Secession style, AEG kitchen which is the center of the apartment owners’ home life and enjoyment.
